Does a manual Z22SE engine fit into a automatic model???

Another post to my previous one searching for a replacement engine.

I've seen a z22se vect B engine from a manual car and wonder if would fit my automatic model?? What changes would be required if any?

Engine might be the same (check the engine codes, they need to be exactly the same) but the position of the starter motor needs to be checked... also you won't need the flywheel that usually comes with the engine as your autobox will need to be connected up with it's torque converter and it's starter...

engine codes are the same both z22yh (not se) as in description. I would likely be buying a replacement engine unseen in person (I've seen one for sale with a video showing it running), due to location and other than asking seller, the position of the starter motor. Do you mean checking for condition or for positioning?

Position... it could be located in a different area. So if I was you I would look where the one is on your engine and than check it with his... if they are in the same spot than you can get the replacement engine

I'll get the positions on both engines checked, thanks. RE removing the flywheel on the manual, will a flex plate or something be needed in its place?

Nope all you need is on your old engine the mechanic that is doing the swap should know what to swap over
