I've done it but... it didn't ran like **** on idle, there is a way of going about it and unlike most I first did my research than got the parts that would do what I wanted, and than blueprinted the whole engine... meaning lighter balanced cranck shaft, longer duration cams, stronger lighter h-rods, heavyduty bearings, high quality pistons, lighter aluminium race flywheel, heavy duty clutch, high quality competition valves and followers, race graded spark plugs... than have the lot fine tuned during a custom rolling road session.... take it for a few days and have it fine tuned again to iron out any thing that doesn't work for daily use...


That is how I did it back than and the money I spend doing that I could've easily bought 2 or 3 other cars of the same make and model that were younger and had more options... and I have build a few exotic engines that way one of which was a vw 2.0 16v g60, I also build a 205 1.9 mi16 turbo, a fiat uno turbo with a 1600 cc engine originally a 1400cc and a vr6 3.0 engine.

I'm wiser now so I just buy a car as cheap as possible and keep it running... it is way more fun
