Looking at a Vectra auto (this will be my first Vectra) is there anything I should know about the auto gearbox like common problems etc etc

Sorry I'm very new to this app and forum I tried googling some stuff but couldn't find much about it... So I thought I'd make a post with people who have these cars

Radiators on the autos are also oil coolers and are known to corrode internally allowing coolant into autobox with a possible 2k+ repair.
Personally i would either fit a new rad or fit a seperate cooler. HTH

Just take it for a test drive first and make sure it changes through gears smoothly, some autos can suffer from harsh/rough gear changes especially 2nd and 3rd and is due to wear in the valve block inside gearbox and can be quite expensive. Maybe if all is well and there’s no record of gearbox oil change, then I would recommend it.

Engines quite solid and easily tuned There are a few issues with injector loom but easily fixed and Egr, swirl flaps etc... Best to take it for a good test drive and don’t be afraid to open it up a bit!

It's had all that stuff done like welded inlet, egr delete, swirl flaps, decat, remapped to 210 and it's got part service history and it's had the gearbox fluid changed... The thing putting me off is that I've had a auto before and not even 24 hours after buying it the gearbox died so getting another auto is daunting plus the car has done 176k

I’ve only had one auto Conner and it was ok but defo prefer manuals in the vectra .... if it’s well serviced I wouldn’t worry about the miles especially if it drives well .....plenty of help on here mate , I should get commission for getting you to join

Yeah you should get commission haha and I'm still looking for now but I'm soo undecided
