Thought I better introduce myself having registered years ago and never getting round to it. Bought an 08 CDTI Elite with 100k on the clock as a cheap run around 3 years ago after my VWT4 blew a gearbox.

Love the car had no major problems bar replacing front wheel bearings and a rear brake line since owning it, as well as the usual consumables. Have put 55k on the clock since purchase which isn't bad, seeing as its only used really in the winter months when the weather is too bad for the bike and the deer are out.

Only real winge about it is the alarm goes off on its own sometimes (Just use drivers door manually to circumvent) and having replaced wiper linkages there is a lot more "slack" in the wiper motion. Apart form those she is a great wee car.

Hi fink. Sounds like you've had some good trouble free motoring.

The alarm sounding is a simple fix - replace the sounder unit as the internal battery is faulty. The sounder is located in the inner wing (passenger side I think). Just remove the inner wheel arch and you'll see it.
Wiper linkages is a very common problem but sounds like you've fixed it.

Ah hang on, the sounder is in the boot behind the panel on the Vectra's, I'm thinking of my old Astra.
