doesn't matter if you are the one that lives there the landlord should supply you with a save to live in place... longstory short... water leaks can cause water damage, rot and mold... the latter is bad for your health the other 2 can cause structural damage... go to the council as said before and when they tell you they can't do anything about it... well next up is getting a solicitor to sort it out after you've got a certified gas/water company to come around and conclude that the work done isn't up to standards...

its only a very small leak only when the boiler is on and dries when it’s off.
landlord said he’d send the same plumber back out but he’s caused so much damage I’ve refused to have him back in the house.
as said I’m not sure his work is correct routing the gas pipe outside the way he has

Take pictures and speak to your council sent them the pictures and sent them to your landlord also than say the lot still leaks as soon as the boiler is on... this is not how the repair should've been left. .

You should make a point to your landlord that if they sent the same plumber out he can pay for the damages he's cost to your belongings also, and that you expect him to take his shoes of when he enters the property... but if you don't allow the plumber back in you won't get any help from the council.

I’ve said all that to the landlord and all the landlord is willing to give as compensation is £80 ( one weeks rent) it won’t pay for the damages to my possessions. And won’t compensate me for having no heating or hot water for nearly 2 months or having no gas on for one night so couldn’t cook. I didn’t expect him to take his shoes off the first time he came but did expect him to use dust sheets etc and have a little more respect. I took plenty photos and I sent them to the landlords agent. So I’m not sure if the landlord has seen these or if he even cares. Some of these points I would have just let go but it’s everything all together.
i dont think I could face the plumber again and be civil in fact I’m not sure I could even keep my hands off him. He’s shown total disregard to my home.
i understand a little mess and disruption is normal but not in rooms he’s not even worked in. They have other plumbers so I can’t see why they can’t send one of them to fix the leak and check his work.

Have you checked that the plumber the landlord used is registered?

    https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/find-an-engineer/

Is he self employed, or from a recognised company?

unfortunately I was only given his first name he turned up in a plane white van. I assume as the landlord uses him regularly he will be registered but I don’t know

Well I’d have to agree looking at how he’s left my home
