Hi from east sussex

Hey all.

So i have owned my veccy for 2 weeks now and now its time to do servicing and a lot of work.

They flywheel is poop. The cam belt looks poop. The alternator is poop and squealing like a little piggy. And boost is intermittent.

Job this weekend is cam belt which im greatly looking forward to .

Once this is all sorted i will be very much keen in going to some meets and saying hi to y'all.

I am very much into modding so if anyone can recommend any threads to read for the 1.9cdti that would be appreciated.

Any way, hi all and looking forward to getting to know y'all.

welcome , sounds like you know your way around the car which will be useful to the forum . As for modding threads ,once you have sorted cam belt etc etc . Have a word with Teapot on here he is a whiz at mapping the 1.9.

I have changed 6 cam belts in my life only my 1st one F up so I'm hopeful this shouldn't to difficult. I have now seen the diesel modding section now so forget that question .

F me that was a b!tch to do. Took 10 hours to do. Crankshaft pully seized on took 2 hours alone to get off, but jobs a gooden.

More things I noticed was wrong is all swirl flaps are fobarred and one of my wheel bolts are cross thread but other then that I'm loving this car so far aha.

And as for that meet I will see closer to the time.
