Hi guys, thought I'd make a bit of a project thread on my pre facelift, mainly to free up the space on my iPad but not lose the photos haha, just kidding

.....

So yeah, I've had a couple of Vectra's in the past, always liked them and recently decided I fancied another.

I knew exactly what I wanted - a facelift SRi, but as you know, when you've got a specific model in mind you can never find one

... anyway, I was browsing through and came across a late 2003 2.2 LS for sale locally and decided to view it, was really surprised with how clean it was and had only done 85k miles! Fair enough it wasn't my first choice but I was desperate for a Vectra for some reason, parted up with my cash, swapped my insurance over and that was that.

Anyway, enough of the chat, here's a few pics of the old girl the day I bought her

So as you can see, a bit dull, a bit boring but a solid little car that drives well.

I replaced the door trims with some from a Vectra in the scrapyard as they were really annoying me.

After a few weeks I came to the conclusion that I'd keep it whilst looking for a facelift SRi as I was bored with how it looked in all honesty but then I came across an Elite for sale which was 40 miles away! full heated leather, alloys with brand new tyres etc for £250! Let's just say, I didn't hang around long and was soon outside the fella's house doing a deal for the car! Got it home and started swapping the wheels, seats etc over plus a few other bits then sold the car on so the parts now fitted in my LS owe me basically nothing haha!

List of improvements so far:

Full heated leather (fully working) and door cards
Elite alloy wheels
Elite interior trims
Replacement door trims
Clear Rear Lights
Front Fog Lights

There's plenty more stuff I want to do so I'll be adding photos as and when I get round to doing them.

This is how she looks now. Once again, a bit dull and boring to some but a million times better for me.

Opinions?

Why not do the face lift yourself ???

In all honesty mate the pre facelift look has really grown on me! I wouldn't go as far as saying I prefer it to the facelift but I can't say I dislike it, plus the pre face are a lot more rare out on the roads ... maybe that's because lots of people don't like them haha!

I had a pre-face saloon and loved the way it looked, especially when I put the SRI lights on the front
The facelift I have now is better looking in terms of it suits the shape of the car better, but I was always fond of the pre-face

SRi lights, I'm guessing you mean the smoked headlights mate? I'm actually on the lookout for a set. It will tidy the front end up so much better, found plenty for sale but not many people are willing to post unfortunately.

The smoked ones yeah, made a huge difference
I got a set of headlight protectors that were kinda tinted (in an old diary thread I made) before I hot the lights, which looked good. Still have them, but they are a little worse for wear as they did about 40k on the front in all weather's.
If you find any that are near me (I live in Watford and work in Hemel Hempstead, but do travel about a bit), give a hollar and let me know if I can be of any use in collecting/sending on

That's really kind mate, much appreciated. I may just take you up on that if I manage to find some lol! I'll have a look through your thread and see what the protectors look like.
