    Default Starter motor?

    Vectra c 1.8 pre vvt
battery is fine but I get no attempt to start nothing not even a cluck from starter solenoid.

Im thinking a sticking starter motor but anything else it could be?
will all the starter motors for the 1.8 fit all 1.8s. Meaning pre vvt engine or vvt and is there any variations. Just wondering can I but a starter before I see the part number.

use this parts catalogue type in the cars VIN and find the part number that is installed on your car... saves you from buying the wrong one.

If the starter motor is stuck, an old trick was to tap the side of it with a hammer a few times.

Tried hitting it from above no joy not really had any time or space to look as I was going to work and car is reversed into garage.
So difficult to get to short of jacking it from the front on the subframe.
was hoping somebody might say relay or starter

It’s a new battery well less than a year old but I’d already checked the battery.

sometimes they'll go for no reason other than age. Only worry about it if it ever blows again.

Fuses get "tired" over a period of time and pop at the most inconvenient of times.
