    Default Computer Help...Laptop.

Im currently working on a laptop for Dogbook BUT have come up stuck ...
After installing a new ssd hard drive I cloned the original and installed it ...only one programme wouldnt behave no mattert what.
So...I reinstalled the operating system,on the new ssd in the laptop and now want to transfer the various programs.
Original hard drive now in a caddy and still fully functional, everything intact.
Anyone know of any programs that are free or a simple(it has to be for me] way of transferring them over??..

I would have thought the caddy can be plugged back into the laptop and the files copied across or is this not possible?

Why not put it back in copy to external h/d then copy back onto new ssd.

So your up grading the new Lappy h/d. If it’s up and running buy a cheap external h/d copy all files from 32 to it, then recopy back to 64 !!!

    Or usb stick would do.....

How come you are upgrading someone's lappy but can't do the job..... if you don't know how to do it you shouldn't be doing it in the first place.... cloning a drive and than resizing it won't work well if the old drive has running 32 bit windows anyway.... and than upgrading to 64 bit windows is asking for problems....

Best way would be a clean install of windows 64 bit and all the programs... simply because x64 doesn't like x32 drivers although it can be done.

But who am I to judge? Just don't do this stuff if you don't know how to do it right.

Its 64 to 64 with a program to clone the original drive to a ssd one, it could be cos some of the programs are i dunno set up and ran from an iso image? Its just all the files used to crate these and other programs like Ksuite and Vauxcom etc take for ever to copy over wifi on my network.

I assumed you could just connect up 2 computers easily and transfer files fast, seems not.

Best way to transfer would be with an external hd caddy that supports usb3.0 that will speed things up but the old hd will be the slower one...

Ps iso can be mounted with 2nd party software.. loads are free google it.

Pps that is if the iso isn't sitting in a corrupt section of the old hd.

    Good luck
