How many of you do a full service every year? by this I mean plugs all filters oil etc.
i think the book says something like plugs every 2 years or whatever but what Iím getting at is if you follow the service guide not everything gets changed every year.
i personally do everything every year oil and oil filter every 6 months.

IIRC, on my old 2.2 Direct,
air filter was every 4 years or 40,000 miles,
    fuel filter every 2 years,
spark plugs every 8 years or 80,000 miles.

That was religiously stuck to as all the servicing was done via a Vauxhall garage. I queried the long period for the spark plugs, but was told it was what Vauxhall recommend. Plugs were eventually changed at just over 86,000 miles, and when the car was 7 years old. Out of curiosity I asked to see the old plugs. Still looked good as new.

Read my diary, you'll see the intervals there as im not writing it all down again. This month its mega service as it was about 2 years ago since the last one and 2 oil changes a year.

They'd probably thrown your plugs away out of habit and then showed you whichever plugs they had to hand.

Vauxhall's service intervals are stupidly long for just one reason - to convince fleet managers that the cars will be cheap to run and service. The intervals don't always match the reality. Vauxhall didn't state that the 4wd system on the Insignia needed to be serviced periodically (unlike VAG who also use the Haldex system) and look how that worked out for Insignia 4wd owners...

As long the 36 or 48 month period is cheap lease companies and therefore fleet managers don't care about the rest. My company car is leased from Alphabet. Servicing is done at Kwikfit (******S) and they couldn't give a **** about the service as long as it is under warranty. I was hoping to buy mine off the lease co. But not now.

10K oil and filter - rest roughly in line with schedule. Still going at 221K so must be doing something right. And no, I do not change the timing belt before 100K UNLESS I have a good reason ( 2nd one went on at 160K as I had the camshaft bridge off to cure a leak )
