    Default Code p1814 help

Hi everyone hope I've posted in the right place I'm still unsure on how to use site.

Anyway I'm getting a warning light on dash, picture of car with spanner through it, when i do the pedal test I'm getting code p1814 ecc communication, I do intermittently loose heating controls and have to press auto button which then tells me residual heat activated or something then heaters are fine again. Altough sometimes it goes and I have to pull fuse and re insert.

Car is a 2005 vectra elite 3.2 with electronic climate control, its an ex police car if that makes a difference. Oh also central locking doesn't work on passenger door not sure if that could be linked?

Wondered if anyone else has had this problem and has managed to rectify it?

    Cheers in advance

You might want to use a proper fault code reader.

A quick google says OBD fault code P1814 is "Transmission 4-Wheel Drive Mode Select Short Circuit To Battery"

Says the same thing from the fault code list on here.

Another option on that code from google

I would also suggest a proper code reader. Either a standalone one or just a ordinary ELM327.

Fixed! Plugged into Vauxhall software thing on my laptop (as obd2 reader showed no codes), came up with p1814 no communication to ecc, for some reason my radio and screen were saying ECC=no so set it to yes and all is fine.
