Exclamation Dash message "Safeguard" every time ignition turned on

I've searched this forum and found some related threads, but nothing helped in my case. This message "Safeguard" not check safeguard or anything else, won't go away unless I press the steering wheel button on left.

Just bought this Vectra C, some history for you:

Car had engine failure at 109k, new engine and gearbox was sourced from accident damaged Veccy, dashboard replaced from accident damaged veccy so that miles would be accurate for the new engine. I'm thinking this is the problem, because if they dash was replaced and a new stereo was put in, perhaps it's not coded to the car? Any other suggestions welcome.

Need this to **** off. It's just had a brand new battery before the car was delivered to me. So, I'm guessing taking the battery off as "reset" wouldn't work. Any other suggestions to reset safeguard? I'm checking the fusebox today with a voltmeter to see if anything is dead.

    Thanks

    EDIT: Not stereo, dash computer*

as above on estates its normally the side windows which go faulty and you can short out the contacts in the cubby holes, on hatchbacks its normally the rear windows.. does the rear heated window work?

It's the hatchback, the heated rear window does work, I only know this as it rained the other day and got a bit steamy. Cleared it within minutes.

I have the same annoying message and yet, no fault codes. I have the estate and I have already shorted out the contacts in the cubby holes, but no joy. Tried different ultrasonic sensors, nothing...

he said rear quarter windows not rear window... i suggest you check the rear quarter windows glass break sensor (aka jump the wires on both sides)

If it's anything like the "InSp" message,

    You could try

    Get in and close doors
    Hold down the trip button
While holding down turn key to the on position (don't start car),
Keep holding for 10 or 15 seconds

Hatch doesn’t have wiring for rear quarters, so sonics or battery in siren possible. Is radio, display, phone coded in properly. And is that new dash programmed in correctly.
