Default Opel Vectra C 2003 - Massive oil usuage

    Good day everyone,
First of all, I'd like to apologise if my mechanical English isn't so easy to understand.
I have an issue regarding my Opel Vectra C from 2003.
It is using about 1L of oil, every 500 km.
I was advised by a mechanic, to run an "oil clean" or something, where I was pouring fluid down in the stamps/cylinders.
It was supposed to stay like that for 3 days, and after 3 days, I should suck up every drop of fluid.
In cylinder 1, 2 and 3 I could suck up all the fluid I poured in.
But in cylinder four, everything was gone.
So I'm suspecting perhaps a "cylinder ring?" is missing or broken.
Since there is no fluid to suck up.
Could this be the issue for the massive oil usage, and I guess fixing it would be very expensive.

having it done is expensive... DIY not so just very time consuming and you need to have all the right tools (which if you don't will make it expensive) longstory short... either get another car or a replacement engine a lower mileage one that runs right would be the way to go as that will be the cheapest option, but you could always get a younger car with less mileage on it and get rid of this one... can't see in your wallet so the choice is up to you...

ps even an engine swap means you'll need to have some tools to actually get the engine out, some can be rented but most of the times it is best to have that done if you don't have all the tools and that will make it more expensive than just buying the engine and replacing it yourself, and in those cases it almost always is cheaper to buy another car.
