    Default aftermarket radio help

    hi guys, i bought an aftermarket double din radio to replace my cd30. all went hunky dorey, only a few things left to do. 1 is how can i get the scrollers to work on steering wheel and 2 how can i get dab radio, it has an aux in. also i contacted the makers and they said the operating system can be updated but no idea how. its not an android one. any help would be fab. im also thinking of upgrading the speakers for better sound. any ideas please. many thanks

    not that i know how to upgrade it but if it is capable of being updated the software you need should be available from the manufacturer, and probably needs to be put on a usb key or sd card so you can run it... also with you not telling us the brand and the model we can't really help you... but in general you need to buy an interface for the steering wheel controls, a separate dab antenna, and a DAB+ module if the radio doesn't have that internally... I say DAB+ because DAB is being phased out slowly and they are heading for DAB+ as it gives better sound and more stations.

    For the steering controls, you need an additional 'module' that goes on the wiring harness, Connects2 would be the brand to look at.
    The easiest way of doing this is to get the module integrated in the adapter but as you've already go that, there should be an alternative available.

    ive no idea of make of radio. chinese crap i think. as to the steering wheel controls, in the setup options there is one for the steering wheel but twhe wires i think arent connected as have no idea which of the original wires connect to the plug. i think best option is when i get in car to take a photo of the wires which may help. radio was only £50 with a reverse camera.
