slight play in rack

so is this expensive and will it be able to be tightened or is it replacement?

I think they have some play anyway. I have had my Vectra since it was 11 months old and on its fifth test I got the same advisory but couldn't detect any play myself. I have had the same advisory on and off in five out of the last seven tests, although on the last test it only had play on the nearside! Haven't changed or adjusted anything so I guess its open to interpretation.

i see.. i think the money i so far have invested in trying to sort the emissions out and other bits has gone beyond what i thought. saying that at least i know what i have done is all new and will last a while. be a pity just to throw it away and scrap it etc. when i get home i will check the other ends of the track to see. if its small movement then not sure. when you say replace whole lot, do you mean the whole assembly? there is still alot i want to do, but obviously until i get an mot its all on hold. i will update with more info asap.

My MOT advisory came up with:
Play in nearside front anti-roll bar ball joint.
Play in near & offside rear suspension arm pin/bush.
I do have a rattling noise when I go over bumps but the MOT guy said it didn't need fixing straight away.
