Crazy cruise control problem
Only reverse switch on gearbox. The other sensors clutch and brake pedal. Is it a different box or just repaired. As the cim controls cc could be anything, abs playing up , get faults read and might be one for battery of half hr see what happens.
Take it rev and speedo works and don’t fluctuate.

Speedo and tacho work but I wondered if they'd changed the final drive ratio as the tacho reads 200-250 rpm lower in all six gears than it did before the repair. It needed a new casing and a 5th gear cluster BTW. The ABS seems to work OK as I've had one URGENT stop this morning (****** BMW drivers!) and I could feel it pulse, plus CC works fine in 3rd and 4th.
What's a CIM anyway please, I just don't know all these acronyms.

Guessing they’ve slipped you a 2.2 not a 2 box so the cim says no cc as I don’t know those rev and speed ratio. Weather you can reset cim to 2.2 without any configure issues I don’t know, so it’ll read right ratio on rev and speed.
Cim someone explain please.

Hi Kit
CIM is the Console Integration Module, sometime called Central Information Module. Basically it is where all the computers and modules on your car get together and communicate with each other. It sits behind the steering wheel and has the indicator/wiper stalks in it (along with the cruise control and various other bits).
Shaun
Despite the cost of living it still seems popular!

But CC works in 3rd and 4th.............
And they said they only replaced the casing and the 5th gear cluster.
Thanks Shaun, at least I know what a CIM is now, even if I have no idea how it can have been re-programmed to only work in two gears.

If you say that you’re 200-50 lower on revs then cim won’t recognise that as it’s not in software parameters. So unless you’re in 3-4 gear which is the same as your old box you get cc.
