    Default Vec estate help

Hi all. I`ve just got myself a Vec C 150 estate Facelift. I have a couple of questions for you experts out there. It has the sat nav fitted but is seriously out of date any way of updating it ? If it cant be updated have any of you changed the head unit if u have what have you changed to and what have you done with the small screen in between the vents ? Also roof bars. I need to have roof bars on it for work as i carry ladders and the fitting points are no where near the rear of the car. Is there any way of fitting something further back ? Hopefully you guys can help as im seriously out of date on all this sort of stuff since i stopped using my Vec B many many years ago lol

    Cheers

Without roof bars, mounting a roof rack does look ridiculous - fixing points are in the same place as the hatchback I think so there's loads of bare roof behind the rear rack. I carry ladders like that sometimes and, other than looking silly, I've had no issues so far. Your only solution is to retro-fit roof bars from a car which had them from the factory.

Your satnav is probably as up-to-date as mine! Not sure what the absolute latest disk is but you can't make it completely current! You could change the headhunt for an android one but not sure if it's possible to fully integrate the existing centre screen.

Well in regards to radios depends on what you want. I know there is a nice integrated one on this site done by Woody that is nicely integrated and looks oem.

I personally went to an android one.

I went the Kenwood double din option. Apple / Android carplay for satnav etc and allows rear view camera connection. I'm a mechanical novice but found it reasonably straightforward

CD70 can only be updated to 2015, if you want newer maps you will need DVD90 - up to 2019 already. BMW is using same map and they are just converted to work with vauxhall unit.
