Default Jolt - when easing off the accelerator

    Hi guys,

When I'm easing off the accelerator - even very very gently - there seems to be a slight 'jolt' coming through the car.
Before the easing off has been very smooth and damped.

It only seems to have developed over the last 3-4 months - any ideas what it might be ?

I'm experiencing something similar. Like a jolting, hard down-shift when I ease up on the accelerator or step on the brake. Very harsh, you feel it on your feet and around.

I've experienced this I think, can you feel it through the gearstick as well?
The mounts on the gearbox and rear have already been replaced with no noticable difference.

But I also have a slight rattle on low-rpm high-load acceleration, so I'm suspecting the DMF, driveshafts or gearbox could be at fault in my case.

Yeah, yours sounds a bit different. Mine was a harsh gear shift, downward. I was told it's the gearbox, which I changed, but still experiencing the same. Now they say it's the vehicle speed sensor. Don't know what to believe anymore.

The vehicle speed sensor is cheaper than the next more obvious cause... your DMF is probably past it's best and is running out of balance. especially if you check your engine mounts and gearbox mounts and all are in good condition.. drive-shafts will be fine unless you have a split in the boots and they actually lost all grease... but you'd already have noticed that because every time you'd turn into a corner you'd hear clicking.. . plus you'd find black grease all over the firewall, wheels, engine etc..

I'm afraid it's going to be a new DMF for me. But at least the shafts should be fine, they don't make noise when turning and all the boots are OK.

Sounds more like engine/gearbox mounts to me, as the wheels slow down the engine slows down through the gearbox, it could be tilting your engine back and forth rather harshly.
