If the stat is not opening until 105° then it will sit around 102° as there is nowhere else for the coolant to cool unless you have the heating on
I originally thought the same that it seamed a little high but that is the way vaux made it ...I only wish I had known it would have saved a LOT of heartache fixing something that was not broken this was most likely the cause of temp dropping as the cheepo stat was opening to soon and most likely sticking open

Why don't you start a poll on here asking 1.8 drivers to state at what temperature the coolant gauge needle sits at during normal driving.

Don't know what difference it makes if the menu is hidden, in the open, or stuffed down Aunt Clarissa's bra...either the temperatures you've stated are fine or they're not. The location of the menu isn't the issue - the reading on it and that of the analogue gauge should tally.

Yeah they take the measurement from the same place don’t they? There’s only 1 temp sensor, I’ve noticed my temp gauge on the clocks isn’t right though. When looking at data logs it’s showing 87 but the needle is at 91.

As far as I know, that display only gives you time date and outside temp

As you can see the temp on the dash just sits over 90°
Where is the water supposed to go to cool if the thermostat does not open until 105° ?
