    Do you know what, from what ive seen of leaking injectors id risk it. Id let the nut go so it wasn't fully tight and lock it in place so it couldn't unwind. At least when it does pop youll know and hear it and you could pull over and nip it back up again knowing that now its ready to remove.

    Just had a word with my mate who's Vectra it is and he thinks hes just going to scrap the car instead of getting the injectors out. Its a 2004 with 170k on the clock and its original flywheel which rattles and also a few other bits that need fixing so its probably not worth the hassle.

    He wants an insignia which he has the money for but wanted to get the Vectra sold but as it is its probably not worth more than £200

    well if he is going to scrap it he might try and slack the bolt on the clamp and just drive like that, pauls suggestion isn't that bad and if in the end it makes for him to be able to sell the car he'll be better of... but he could also just drive it to a scrappy if he has his sights set on an Insignia. He might be lucky and get a reasonable price for it.

    You can get slide hammers to pull them out and I have seen a special tool that tightens slowly and pulls them out. You will need to give the area a very good clean and maybe a slight cut to fit the new copper washer. However I would loosen the nut by 1 and a half turns and WD40 the area before and after every trip and just drive it and it will pop out. It won t come flying through the bonnet you will just get a hiccup and a chuffing noise and a misfire.

    That is the cue to stop and fit the new injector which to be fair takes 10 mins with the new washer!
