What do you think Duncan, isn't this the best way to find out how good this car really is? Tested to the maximum on a track, with camera onboard so that we can discuss cornering, and at the end laptimes to compare this car to.

A racetrack is certainly a good way to measure a cars overall performance and handling - not to mention the driver's skills. A 1/4 mile strip shows speed off the line and acceleration through the gears, but no real indication of handling.

Haven't watched the link you posted yet - will have a look later.

Ahh, Astra VXR/OPC , the position on the ring times just enforces what a cracking car it is, not just in a straight line as you guys say .. Really miss mine I can tell you, every outing was an experiance ...

If they are thrustworthy, here are the laptimes about Golf(not officialy confirmed):

8:53 for the Golf GTI (regular, 200 hp-version);
8:49 for the Golf V R32 and
8:37 for the old Golf IV R32.

The Astra beats them ALL.
