Default Breaking / Selling whole car

Evening all. I have a Signum Elite CDTi 150 that I need to sell. Car is 2006 model with lots of work done since i bought it amost 2 years ago. To cut a long story short I have had a few DPF problems so I took the plunge and had it replaced in October last year. Also had to replace both sensors and all was good. However on my first journey after this work, the engine management light came on after approx 40 miles. Called roadside assistance and he said it was top fuel rail (think that's the right part) that had come off. I'm then told by my mechanic I have used for over 10 years that will need a new manifold as this rail thing can't be replaced. Cost approx £400-£500. I can't justify spending more money as I have also had to replace front exhaust section and alternator. So my dilemna is, do i sell the car "as is" or break it for parts ?? Car runs fine and drives great. The light only comes on when doing 60-70 for a prolonged period. Car has full leather interior with front heated seats. As well as factory fitted sat nav. I love the car but can't keep spending money on it.

If he means swirl flap rod then there are a few that can fit a welded manifold for about £150

Evening. Apologies for late reply. When the breakdown repair man came out to me he said "oh, this rail on the top has just popped off. I'll see if i can get it to go back on. That's what's causing your EML to come on"

So can the fuel rail be replaced on its own ??

Evening Lee - do you know if there is anyone local to Walsall, West Midlands that may be able to do this for me ?? Daft question, but would the car be 100% working again then ?? Or would additional work be needed ???

That sounds like the swirl flap bar (rail) to me.
Despite the cost of living it still seems popular!
