Pulling down the rear backrest problem

Hi!

I have a 2004 1.8 Sedan Vectra C. The left rear seat backrest pull down mechanism has been ruined, the lever is not working and the backrest cannot be tilted forward. How do I access the lock mechanism without removing the seats? If it can be at all. If it can only be solved with removing the seat, can the backrest be removed at all? Will the shutter release it?

If you have any ideas or somebody has installation instructions with pictures, I'd appreciate it.

You'll have to prise it off with a screw driver as the hook that clamps it in just has to be moved up... it is on the side of the wadding right on the top... look at the other one first so you have an idea how far it is located behind the wadding...

It will be the only way to get it free... once out is free you can repair it when you take the handle apart. Or just get another back rest of a scrapped car.
