EGR Valve and ECU
guys, I had my car put into the garage for a new EGR valve - exhaust light on dash. It's been replaced but the light will not go out and the error code is still present. Also had glow plugs replaced. Apparently the ecu isn't doing what it should.
Would replacing the ECU make any difference and what would this entail?

Find someone local who's got opcom or tech2 to clear them or get a eml 327 Bluetooth adapter and the torque app and clear them that way

This has been done. Another EGR has been put on and still can’t clear the dash light. MOT due next month and as we all know it will now fail with any dash light illuminated

I bought a car for next to nothing with this issue and many garages had spend the owners money trying to solve the problem In my case there was a 15amp fuse blown in the fuse box under bonnet it was fuse number 15 from memory, so look there.
The fuse did blow again some time later because the loom that ran behind the cylinder head above the gearbox had not been clipped back. Due to vibration the wire to the Egr valve had broken and the fuse blew, but in your case it may just be the Egr vlave failed blowing the fuse.
