Default The Darklord struggles to park his monsterous Vauxhall!

Am I the only one who finds the Vectra a royal pain to park in town?

Looking at it tonight after having squeezed into a ridiculously small space again, it must be one of the largest family cars around - even the MK3 Mondeo a couple of spaces away looked smaller.

Am I the only one wistfully sighing as I pass small spaces I can't get into?

A Vectra looks quite small when parked next to an Insignia A and even smaller when compared to the B. And the mk 3 & 4 Mondeos are both bigger than the Vectra, I'm quite sure.

Thank goodness I’m not the only one! In the year and a bit I’ve owned the car I’ve found it difficult to judge it’s dimensions, so much so, I do as the OP has said and driven past small spaces believing I can’t get into them. One thing that has helped me is fitting a double din heanduint and rear mounted camera. I can now get right up to the vehicle behind and judge much better whether or not I can get into a space.

When i test drove the Insignia, I really wanted the Sport Tourer but a few things pushed me to the hatch. I am so glad I did. Lengthwise it can be too large for some parking spaces, that extra 4 inches....... need I say more?

parking the hatch is a doddle compared to the saloon... and i have the latter, don't get me wrong i manage to stick it in any parking space with enough space for the car.

You're not wrong there. When I was looking to replace my written off Vectra-C, I found the Insignia too big (both width and length) to fit in my garage. Parking spaces at work are also narrow. That's why I settled for an Astra-J instead.

Vision out of the Insignia is poorer than the Vectra too. If the OP struggles to park a Vectra-C, then he'll struggle even more with an Insignia.
