Vectra CDTi 1.9 SRi engine issue

I’ve just got a 2008 Vectra estate as above. It runs great and absolutely files down the road. However, when my fuel gets to about 1/4 tank, I feel the engine “wobble” when idling at lights, then I get loads of blue smoke from the exhaust when I accelerate

Ant ideas? It’s only when 1/4 tank of below

it means the diesel particulate filter (dpf) is getting clogged up by soot off the exhaust fumes and needs to regenerate , in other words the engine hasnt been allowed to get up to correct temperature because of short stop/start journeys although i dont thinks its related to whatever your problem is by the description of the problems youve described

I think the first thing to establish is ,has it got a DPF ?. Is it a automatic ?

you might have a problem with dirt in the tank, messing with the level sensor in the tank, and you won't be the first that has seen this problem come around... it is easily taken care off though, you either add a fuel additive that cleans the mess out for you (just remember to change the fuel filter after you've emptied that tank with the cleaner additive) or you pull it from the tank and clean it by hand, it is the immediate remedy... i would do the later, than add a fuel additive that can remove the dirt from the tank, and after that replace the fuel filter...
