    Default Which Tyres?

The old Vec is up for a set of new shoes. Shes running standard Club/SXI 16" wheels which i am not changing but want to get some decent rubber.

Tyre size is 205/55/16 H rated.

Currently fitted with Bridgestone Turanza ER300's which would cost me £230 all in (i'll fit them meself) but wondered if any of you recommend anything other than a like for like swap

I've used F1's in the past & really liked them - they grip well wet or dry & are pretty quiet but they didn't last me very long. How are they wearing on the Signum?

On my 2.2 DTI, they're lasting in excess of 20k.

I've got a pair thats a year old in my shed, they've done 20k and still have a good 3-4 mm before the wear indicators, they've been on the front and back of the car.

Highly reccomend the F1's, just wish VX fitted them as standard instead of those horrible NCT's!!

Yep. My vote too for Goodyear Eagle F1's. Stick to the road like glue.

Are you sure about the H rating?
I was under the impression the Vectra required at least V rated tyres
Also that tyre size is unusual for the Vectra C, normally 215/55R16

My previous Vectra B and Mondeo Mk3 were on 205/55R16 91V
I preferred Michelin HX MXM tyres, typically £110 fitted each
Would easily last 40K miles, new to rear, then swapped to front

On that size, the Goodyear Hydragrip is one hell of a tyre. Grips as well, if not better than the F1, also has better sidewall strength, and lasts longer.

Thanks for the recommendations, yes the tyres are an H rating which i also thought was strange.

Its booked in at VX for its service next Tuesday, i only want their stamp in the book and so i'll order a set of Eagle F1's and have them shipped to work so i can fit them myself, takes the worry out of those monkeys scratching the wheels
