Did like it once wish they’d go into more detail.
Plus Edd’s last job, I think the Yugo watched them back it up on the road test and the rear wheel was wobbling around.
I prefer the vet can’t remember his name and car sausage more these days.

"Air conditioning it is then" replied Ant cheerfully. "As easy as that?" asked Mike. "As easy as that" replied Ant. "I love your enthusiasm" said Mike. I used to like Ant's enthusiasm too in his early episodes, especially as it made a welcome change from the moodiness and cynicism that Edd displayed for his last couple of seasons. Edd would even ask Mike why he didn't buy cars that didn't require work - because then there would be no show, I would think to myself. But now we know why Ant can afford to be so cheerful about the work - because he does so little of it himself. The 4 mechanics do it all. In the Dodge SRT10 episode repeated at the weekend, Ant starts to unbolt the back of the propshaft with the tiniest weediest little ring spanner you ever did see - one that you would never think was man enough for that task. Then he starts to unbolt the gearbox and its apparent that the bolts are only finger tight. Every SINGLE nut and bolt he will be touching has already been pre-loosened by the 4 off-screen mechanics. Ant is just the actor. That's trickery and dishonesty too far for my tastes.

Wow. That was unreal. I watched the rest of the C10 episode last night. The air conditioning did indeed get retrofitted to the Chevy truck - but they didn't show any of it, not even one minute, they just told us at the end that it had been done. It's like the magic elves came in over the weekend and did the work. It was the same for fitting the adjustable steering column and the brake booster - all just done - somehow - without any of it being shown. Why not show even just one minute of each task being done? Because Ant wasn't even on the same continent when the work was being done, he was back in blighty seeing his family and running his UK business. This show is about as believeable nowadays as Car SOS would be if they tried to convince us that Tim Shaw does all the work himself single-handed. Remember the days when we used to moan that WD was unrealistic because Edd only changed one air filter on the M5 when we could see there was one air box per bank of cylinders? Who would have thought he'd be replaced with an actor...

For a bonus point, what was the real name of the guy who started helping Mark in some of the later episodes, nicknamed "The Bloke from Stoke"

They did it again in this week's episode of WD. Mercedes 300 TD (i.e. a W123 estate). Ant spends 95% of his time peeing about with the engine before swapping out the electric aerial and that's it, the car is allegedly ready. Then they add up the parts costs and they have the cheek to include stuff like a replacement dash, carpet dye and a driver's armrest. Eh? Where the #%&@ did that krap all come from? No mention about which elf/fairy/pixie/yeti broke into the studio and fitted all that stuff whilst the cameras were off. I'm telling ya, it's almost like they film 2 hour episodes for the US market and then just air the first half here in blighty, leaving us to use our imaginations about how the rest of the work was done.

One of the few cars that didn't need a new clutch

ps, I'm slowly making my way through the 1st series of Flipping Bangers. And I'm flipping well loving it. Bodges and all. So much of what they do is what the average home mechanic does.
