CIM Vectra C 2008 Z18XER
Greetings,
First of all I would like to report my CIM's symptoms and then the solution I found in order to - hopefully - fix this issue.
Everything started when i noticed that after starting the engine, the ESP/TC light kept being on (no other light such as ABS, etc).
Many times i was having the RPM and Speed instruments going to 0 position and then back to normal.
After removing the CIM and re-solder all the connectors and clean them, the issue re-appeared.
In addition, when I was trying to unlock the car using the remote control it seemed to be un synchronized and after switching on the ignition - without pressing any button - it worked normally again.
The solution:
I noticed one day that if i switch on and off the ignition (engine off) one time and then switch on again the ignition and start the engine, the problem wouldn't appear.
I removed again the CIM and change the 2 SMD Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors on the board.
After the replacement the problem didn't appear again and after 4 weeks everything keeps working as it should.
Hope this fix will help anyone facing similar issues.
Thank you for your time spending to read my post.

Well done on the fix. Bad capacitors are the majority of faults in all electronic equipment.

Hm, this repair sounds quite logic.
Do you have pictures of capacitors or their values?

Sure you can give it a try. Keep in mind that I used regular electrolytic capacitors and not SMD as I couldn't find them in local market and international delivery could take some time.

So, the first capacitor is 220μF/35v and the second one 47μF/35v
I used the base of the SMD capacitors to hold the regular onesIMG_20181217_113822.jpg
