Default Where does everyone buy their tyres from?

So my Insignia has just had its first mot and third service a main VX dealter. It passed but they've advised new tyres all around. Front tyres are down to 2.6mm and back are just over 3m tread. I didnt fancy paying main VX dealer prices for tyres so i said i'd sort them myself.

With the bad weather coming would you guys get all 4 changed now? I've gota 600 mile round trip next weekend with the missus & kids. Shes moaning about unsafe tyres due to the pushy sales guy preaching i should just get them done at his garage.

I've had a quick look online and found the following options:

    - Goodyear F1 Eagles 245/40/19 @ £145 each (inc fitting)
    - Avon ZZ5 245/40/19 @ £125 each (inc fitting)
    - Landsail XL 245/40/19 @ £108 each (inc fitting)

Any recommendations or has anyone seen any nation wide offers?

Or any other Chinese import tyres for that matter.

If you only fit 2 tyres then put the new ones on the rear

    Get the Landsails
But don't pay the £108 that your being quoted.

The landsails are probably the best budget ones around.

Go into the Insignia forum and read what the guys who are driving Insignias say about them.
    The guys can't fault them.

But buy the best you can afford, that's all I can say.
Your driving an expensive car.....you don't wanna skrimp on the part that joins the car to the road.

Normally get mine from tyre leader or mytyres.

Personally normally use Kumho tyres as they tend to be a decent mid range tyre depending on the model( running KU39's on the vxr and PS91's on the signum)

Ebay and pay a garage to fit them (I fit mine myself)

Your Landsail (Which are good tyres with good B ratings) for £68 but you will need them fitting: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/X1-245-40...k0et:rk:2:pf:0

I always buy just the best brands, Michelin, Continental, Goodyear, et al, because even though my Signum is 14 years old, you need the best grip when you have 220 bhp, especially in this country. So no mid-brand, budget or Chinese Qingripper malarkey for me. The savings come from buying them on ebay, often sourcing one tyre at a time months beforehand, so I still end up with a matching pair or full set by the time I need to fit them. There's no justification for ever buying tyres from a main dealer, you get nothing extra for the extra outlay, after all does a Vauxhall dealer's technician fit more tyres in a week and therefore have more experience than a trusted local tyre shop?
