    Default Barometric sensor

Yesterday I got the Spanner light on while just driving a steady 20mph, stayed on for about 3 minutes and it was in limp mode, I dropped a gear to max the revs out, well as much as limp mode let’s you, then all of a sudden it kicked back into life and spanner light went out,

fault codes were P0105 & P1105, MAP and BAP sensors,

cleared codes and P1105 came back under pending codes, Cleared it again and it was fine,

Today I decided to disconnect the Barometric sensor to see what would happen,

the car started just fine, I expected the spanner light to come on which it did, but the car drives better with it disconnected, the boost 2k onwards is a lot better and pulls brilliant,

so can these barometric sensors give incorrect readings to the ecu resulting is poor performance but without bringing the spanner light on?

Because the car drives absolutely brilliantly with it disconnected

you could try and clean it with an electrical cleaner, with your car being the y20dth it will always get covered in oil so try to clean it, if you don't have any electrical cleaner at hand, some warm soapy water in a spray bottle will do the trick as long as you rinse and dry it afterwards.

and yes it will give false readings if it is dirty.

you on about the Barometric sensor or the MAP sensor? my problems with the BAP sensor by the airbox just behind the MAF, i used electrical cleaner on it though but it seems to have killed the sensor but i cant see why electrical cleaner would do that, its giving code P1105-03 (low voltage) and wont clear the code , so the sensor defo seems dead, it must of been on its way out anyway by the looks of it, only £10 on ebay for a used one so ill try that,
