    Default Sensor or no sensor?

    Z18XE engine:

I'm looking at radiators, but it seems there are two types. I understand that allegedly the same radiator is used from 02 - 09, yet there appears to be two types: one "with sensor" and one without. Assuming that the the sensor is the cooling fan switch, where is it on the radiator? I've looked but can't see any sign of one.

Yet I can't see how the fan is meant to operate if there isn't one.

Can anyone tell me where it is in case I'm overlooking it?

    Many thanks.

Not 100% but looking from front it's on right topside? Someone with more better knowledge will come along soon. But will get look as on way to garage to remove the radiator air con etc from a z18xe I'm breaking after timing belt snapped. So will let you know later on this 1.

Many thanks, be glad if you can post up what you find, I've had another look but can't see any wires going to radiator at all. Very strange.

There appear to be two part numbers - 24418338, and 24418343.

I do wish they would keep things simple!

Sorry my error seems as though don't have 1. Only wires are onto fan itself just removed the rad and air con unit etc. Will put up pics if can figure out how to it out20181211_160747.jpg.

So there are no sensors mounted on the radiator itself then? That appears to be the same as mine, in which case I'll press the buy-it-now button.....

    .....£13.99 clearance! Hopefully today's bargain.

Can figure out pics yet but only wire on this z18xe preface lift is the plug from back of fan. Not much help and can't see prt no on this 1 even with the torch.

Certainly today's bargain. Definitely no sensors on this radiator.

My local dealer is of the "bring it in sir, and we'll have a look at it for ££££s" variety. Not very helpful that way, a bit too posh! And they didn't know that the Vectra had electric power steering! Sort of fills you with confidence...
