    Default Vauxhall vectra - Vectra Sri cdti

    Hi hope somebody can help got the battery light come up on dash when driving home and stopped to see if beltchad come off but ok, got home and put code reader on and said p0621 generator lamp control circuit manfunction , could it be alternator as car runs ok even with lights on

    Pretty sure either your alternator is giving up or the battery has gone bad there mate

    Hi thanks for reply just tested and with engine not running voltage at battery was 12.4 volts started engine and went to 13.5 volts put lights on and heater and voltage stayed the same and revved engine didn't go up

    Is it still starting/cranking over fine first thing in the mornings after being left overnight?

    Hi yes still cranks over fine don't know about in morning as only came on today , but started ok earlier and drove about 50 meters and light came on , also does any one know if the 150 engine alternator same as 120 engine alternator thank club04

    Default Vectra cdti codes

    Hi went to car this morning and started first turn of key went for drive no battery light , went out and started it went for a drive again battery light came on , also rev counter was at 1100 revs on tickover so come home . If got an alternator in shed of a 1.9 8 valve astra if it will fit , is it safe to drive thanks

    I would check the earth connections as well, but as the battery is holding charge, it's most likely to be the alternator, in my opinion anyways
    I don't think the ones form a 120 (8v) and 150 (16v) are the same, but I'm not 100% on that

    Ok thanks I'll have look in morning as it was raining today , I put wipers on and they seemed really slow

    Hi just took alternator off but cannot see anything the small black wire I tried undoing nut holding it on to alternator and it just keeps turning eventually snapped wire to get alternator off tried undoing it off car and just keeps turning on alternator
