Had the car for 10 years, and done loads, but not done a diary.
So I'll start with today and work backwards

Anyway.
Today's "quick" mod - puddle lights.

Got these BMW replacement LED ones.

Fashioned a connector for the pins and wired them.

Followed the How To here.

Connected them to my existing footwell lighting.
Used 5A wire so had to drill 2 holes.
Damaged the door connector and struggled getting it back together.
But it's all working now:

Had the problem with the corroded earth on the rear lights.
Cleaned the contacts up, replaced some bulbs for "better" ones.

Then thought I'd give the lenses some love.
Polished them with Plastrx - very shiny now.
Also replaced the black trim on one side for an unmarked one I had lying around.

Had some badly scratched genuine signum door sill protectors hanging around.
Refurb'd them in matt black.
In the right light you can still see that they have SIGNUM etched in
Much better!

Gearbox rebuild completed (not by me ). Picked the car back up a few days ago - it's running lovely.

Today I replaced the standard transmission oil with a higher spec:

While I was at it, replaced the battery box with an unbroken one and secured it with 3 new bolts.

I had a period trying out DRLs in place of the fog lights. Cut them into blank inserts.

Was also trying out the look of my black AFLs courtesy @new boy
Still not fitted after a year and a half.

Painted the original chrome fog surrounds black and refitted with nice yellow bulbs.
Was going to go HID, but changed my mind. Like a crisp yellow fog light anyway.
