Default 1.9 CDTi 150 – Injector 3 prob and Oil around injector with photos

Hi all, got a couple of probs would appreciate any advice based on my descriptions and photos here. Im no mechanic so forgive me.

First off I had what I believe is the Injector 3 common fault. Garage replaced it, but it happened again within the week. Took it back and turned out they'd damaged it somehow but they fixed. 3 months on and its happening again. The misfire, lack of power, cant get above 40-50mph without engine judder.

I looked at injector 3 which you can see in the pics (red circle). It had tape wrapped all around it which was loose. (hmmm?). I took it off, disconnected it. Wrapped with fresh tape, plugged back in, and car was running fine. Though the tape looked like it was hiding a dodgy connection between wire and the plug end.

Second concern is the amount of oil pooled around the bottom of injector plug 2 (blue circle). I've no idea where its from or the likely fault? Been told could be a worn gasket under the rocker cover? Its getting worse and you can see the oil splattered on the underside of the plastic engine cover.

    Any advice MUCH appreciated.

    Cheers - Russ

the 3rd injector replacement plugs have a blue clip, I'm sure, so it looks like they've just swapped it for another 'old' one.

not sure about the leak, you sure it's oil and not diesel?

Leak off pipes look dry, not carbon from a leaking injector seal is it? I agree about the injector plug, doesn't look like a new replacement plug, looks like it has been cut off another car if it's a different one at all.

Thanks chaps. Its def doesn't seem like a new connection. Even after 3 months. Feels like just the wire has just been repaired and taped up maybe.

And pretty sure its oil around the injector seal. Its not dry and its a thick liquid. I'll check again tonight.

Judging by the color it's oil.
Also, it seems to me that your vacuum hose is bended...

Thanks, yes your right on both. Hose has been replaced since the pic and turbo works again.
How does the oil get around the injectors there is what Im wondering too? Is it likely from the copper injector seal?

Also realised from my garage receipt. they replaced the injector itself. And probably snagged the loom, (which they fixed a couple of weeks later) hence the electric tape around it.

Seem like i need the loom kit as the wiring must still be dodgy.

The injector seals have been sorted. But the stuff i thought was oil is like a hardened carbon. Was just shiny
