Thank you all for your kind words. Believe me I did not take this decision lightly. I bought the car 5 and half years ago, one owner, full Vauxhall service history and 65000 on the clock. In all the time I have had it, apart from regular servicing and the usual bits, tyres, brakes, shocks and the dreaded broken spring (3) it has not cost me a penny. It has been a comfortable, reliable, economical and one of the best cars (certainly the best Vauxhall - and I have owned a few) I have ever had. I would have sold it privately, but in all honesty my conscience would not allow me to do that, especially to someone on here without telling them the full facts, and would have been surprised if I got 100 quid for it. For those of you who know the car, you know that it is a well looked after car. The Car People actually marked it as a "very good example". I just hope that whoever gets it next will give the love and respect that I did, although to be honest it will probably go to auction. It will be a sad day tomorrow when I drive it for the last time. Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to the new car, and that will ease the sorrow somewhat, but I feel as if my close friend will be going forever. I was tempted to break it, but I do not have either the space or the time to do this, and I needed the part exchange value to enable to buy the Fiesta.
