Hello everyone, hope you are all well.
I’m not a prolific poster here, but have lurked about for years absorbing the advice and information available here.
I’m not sure if there is much or any demand for my car, but I guess we’ll find out.
It’s time to say goodbye to by beloved Vectra estate (1.9 cdti [150] Elite NAV), please see below for more details.
Good Points:
Elite spec
Teapot tune and FMIC fitted (4yrs ago) – EGR blanked and deactivated at this time too
DPF gutted (original canister still fitted to car)
DMF and clutch replaced in April 2016 (documented on here)
New starter motor a few months ago
New alternator fitted this summer (receipt available, still in 12 month warranty)
Insignia washer jets (Ooh fancy!)
Working electric tailgate (potentiometer sometimes needs a reset)
Heated seats (the best I’ve experienced, surprised me)
Clean leather seats in good to very good condition. No rips/tears and minimal bolster wear.
Front discs and pads replaced last October
Recent Goodyear tyres to front (with plenty of tread left) – budgets on the rear.
Bad Points:
175,000 miles – with no history when I purchased (at 140k) and maintained myself
Will need a service and a fresh cambelt would be a good idea.
Aircon is not working and has a leak – it’s super cold when it’s re-gassed, but won’t last.
Turbo whines (been the same since purchase 4yrs ago)
Nasty knock/clunk coming from front suspension – I believe this to be a drive shaft.
Horn and steering controls stopped working (believe this to be airbag squib?) – will be an MOT failure.
Rust/corrosion around the rear arches and numerous scrapes and bangs to the bodywork.
Alloy wheels have seen better days.
MOT runs out mid October
The car starts, runs and drives perfectly well, and can really get a shift on in relative comfort - but with the above issues I would be reluctant to say that this car is ‘ready’ for the road – as such I am listing it as ‘spares or repairs’.
It can be driven away, I feel obliged to advise collecting with a trailer.
If you’re in need of a capable load lugger, then with a couple hundred being spent, it will serve you very well as it has served me.
I will be very sad to see it go, although it was only ever meant to be a temporary car – it has turned out to be one of the longest owned cars I’ve had.
2x keys
2x owners (including me)
I’ve had a look at cars listed on ebay as spares or repairs, but with various states of ‘repair’ it’s not the easiest to price.
As this car is driveable, I’ve decided to ask for:
£500
If you agree and are interested to know more or disagree and would like to negotiate, I’d appreciate a PM.
I encourage anyone to contact me for a conversation and a viewing – the car is currently safely parked up in my work car park.
Kind regards,
David
