    Default New Clutch Spring

I have been having a problem with my cruise control (it wouldn't engage) and have diagnosed the problem to the clutch spring being too weak to bring the clutch pedal fully back to it's correct position. When i pull the pedal back with my foot, the cruise control engages and functions correctly.

I am hoping to get it changed under the warrenty i have with the car, but in case they say no, does anyone know how much it might cost me to have the clutch spring replaced?

The part isn't too expensive, and it's a simple job from what I understand, so if they don't do it under the warranty you have you could probably do it fairly easily yourself.

I've been intending to get mine sorted for while. I didn't know there was a quick fix/mod until saw this thread a few months ago: http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...ghlight=spring

I had the same problem and to it to my local Vx dealer.£7 for the spring and about 30 mins labour. The mechanic had to get help to fit the spring so doesn't look good for fitting it yourself(or maybe he's a **** mechanic!).C/C still didn't work after it was fitted and Vx salesman just shrugged his shoulders and said book it in again!(More money please). After 4 days it started working(Weird!).

Well, mine has started working now anyway. Occasionally it doesn't, but most times it does now, and when it doesn't i just move the clutch with my foot and it is fine.

    i had the same done.
they put a different spring on mine, as the old style spring snapped in my car and wouldnt return the pedal to the top.
i went to vauxhall to buy the new spring, they told me that they had upgraded the spring and that they would fit it under warranty for me. my car wasnt under any warranty at the time. im guessin they did it under warranty due to there being an upgrade for it.

    Hi,
Just had my car serviced and asked them to look at a noisy clutch. When I press the clutch pedal my car ticks over as smooth as anything but on release it sounds very clattery. As my warranty runs out today, I asked them to investigate and it was found to be a faulty Flywheel which they have agreed to replace under warranty.
Ive had some problems with stutturing etc so wondering if this could be a linked problem.
    Hope this helps.
