Default Engine Cut out and Fault code logged, 06 z30dt elite

    hello all,
just had a weird issue with my car occur twice within a few days now.

1st about 2 days ago i completely lost my clocks no speedo, temp guage or fuel guage. this had happened before but usually turning ignition off and back on fixed it, this time though it took a good 20-25 mins before it came back of its own accord. during the entire time dash was off the car ran ok and i could read the likes of coolant temps etc via my phone and torque app.

also during the time the dash was off and when i was accelerating semi hard onto a dual carriageway the entire car cut out and i had to roll to the side of the road and restart which it did with no issue. this fault has just happened again today with same result.

car has logged a fault code when it has cut out of p1895 and also the traction control light came on today when it did it (as the dash was working today)

has anyone seen this happen before and does anyone know what the p1895 code means, i have looked around the site and only managed to find the code listed for a 02 car as a loss of canbus with ecm.

i should mention that while dash was playing up the only light i got when ignition was turned on was a engine management light (the engine symbol) but this light was not on while running.

sorry for the messy post and apologies if this is posted in the wrong section

I've lost the dials before by turning my radio up too loud (lost the windows in my corsa by doing the same thing).
I have since worked on the assumption that they share a fuse. If this happened to me, I'd look at which fuse controls the dials and replace it.
    Occam's razor and all that

i suspected something similar to fuses myself as i do have a LOT of electrical extras added (double din head unit, dab radio, orange beacons(work requirement), front and rear dashcam etc) but i checked most of the fuses when it went off this last time and most seem to be ok, but i do need to check which fuses are for it specifically also

I'd first check your battery first if you're getting electrical problems (including load testing it)

If your car is an automatic I'd check the auto gearbox oil level if your battery test is fine.

    Good luck with it

gearbox is something i need to look at as it is very harsh moreso when cold changing gears (af40 box) but also has a stutter between 1500-2000 rpm on light throttle. but for this particlear issue i dont think battery is issue as stereo etc all run perfect even sat for a good length of time with it running

Might be worth looking into considering a gearbox oil change to rule it out.
