Good point and a magnetic pick up probe will be your best friend here, the rockers are fairly simple kind of pressed steel with a roller. Just probe about with your pickup tool and do a kind of 'post mortem' with the bits you find to assemble them back into some kind of shape to make sure you have got all the bits. All 16 were broken on mine (went on the motorway) and we had all the bits laid out on a card in all their broken wonder until we were sure we had got them all. Back together with 16 new followers, new water pump and belt kit and started first turn of the key.
Despite the cost of living it still seems popular!
Same here stranded on motorway at night . Belt/water pump is about 6 years old and done around 60000-70000 miles. Good service by the AA, got with us quick and towed to local supermarket car park. Is it feasible for the bearing pin rollers to end up draining down into the sump? Going to dump the oil out and filter it with something while it drains.
Dumped the oil/ also flushed through with 5 litres of new oil.....got about 40 bearing rollers with a magnet. Also a centre bearing pin. Lost a few bits....next step drop the bumper see what iv lost....Also got a neodymium magnet which should be more effective of getting the remaining parts out the sump. If this fails. Reluctantly sump off.
message to - Lastone. Tell Dogbook when i took the rocker cover off, i did find rockers. 8 in fact, i also found 8 crockers.

Now down to 8 needles rollers missing! Can anyone confirm if there is 14 or 15 needle rollers in the bearings? if it is 14 then i am OK to go ahead to reassemble the engine! If its 15 i am going to have to take the sump off!
