The question was whether 314 discs would go under 16 inch wheels nothing about tyres or have I missed something?

Tyres are irrelevant, part with original GM wheels is what matters...

So you are saying you have 314s under 16 inch GM alloys?

No, I was asking could I make an upgrade to 314's with 16" GM alloys. I have 17" alloys for summer tyre set, but for winter conditions I use 16" wheels.

Follow on question, do the 314s fit under 16" steelies?
Need to restore my new alloys before I fit them and wanted to know if I could fit the brakes first or does it need to be all at once?

I saw a previous post where they were talking about police spec Vectra's having 345mm VXR brakes with 17" wheels and there was a picture, but it looked likely that the calipers would scrape wheel weights off.
I can confirm this, my Special has 345s behind 17s... I think they’re called Elites?

Am i correct in thinking that you can use the original front brake hose when converting from 285 to 314.
