Be very very careful. They will fit under some 16s but not all by a long chalk. I fitted 17 elites on mine.

No, I was asking could I make an upgrade to 314's with 16" GM alloys. I have 17" alloys for summer tyre set, but for winter conditions I use 16" wheels.

Follow on question, do the 314s fit under 16" steelies?
Need to restore my new alloys before I fit them and wanted to know if I could fit the brakes first or does it need to be all at once?

I have 17" rims, I'm guessing the reason the VXR is on 18's is due to the dbigger discs and fact that the caliper is spaced further away from the hub centre.

I saw a previous post where they were talking about police spec Vectra's having 345mm VXR brakes with 17" wheels and there was a picture, but it looked likely that the calipers would scrape wheel weights off.

I can confirm this, my Special has 345s behind 17s... I think they’re called Elites?

Am i correct in thinking that you can use the original front brake hose when converting from 285 to 314.
