I saw a previous post where they were talking about police spec Vectra's having 345mm VXR brakes with 17" wheels and there was a picture, but it looked likely that the calipers would scrape wheel weights off.
Yup the police ones have 17”s you know the facelift elite alloys so they are fine behind that. I’m not sure about the 17” sri alloys though can’t remeber the details as it was so long ago I was upgrading brakes but I’ve always had 19”s so never had to worry.
The standard back plates are ok with 314 as I recall I think you have to trim a bit to clear the Caliper that’s about it.

Yep, just need to remove an inch or two from the dust guard, @plasma surgically removed mine in situ... Have a look at some of the older threads.

I found that thread last night, excellent reading and if I had found it earlier I wouldn't have needed to post here, everything I needed to know is on there, great piece of work by the way.

Thanks Fred, is the mod to the backplate just round where the caliper mounts? Also do you know what plasma used to 'surgically' remove the excess tin?

Be very very careful. They will fit under some 16s but not all by a long chalk. I fitted 17 elites on mine.
