    Default Advanced Driving

Just wondered if anybody had any thoughts on the IAM advanced driving test. Honesty would be appreciated.

Don't do it, your whole way you view other drivers will change, you will become uptight and frustrated everytime you drive, with comments like these free flowing from your mouth......

    C'mon Richardhead!

    Nice move....455hole

Oi *****, the mirrors for seeing behind, not vanity

Where'd you learn to drive? the funfair?

I am a class 1 Police advanced driver and IAM qual'd examiner and I would say do it.
it is a skill you will use every day, you will be a safer, quicker driver, and get cheaper insurance.
The majority of Ins. Comps will give a 25% discount for an IAM member.
It's not difficult to achieve, but your driving will improve hugely.
It's not the fuddy duddy institution it used to be.
You don't have to be a member for ever, but the skills you will learn will be with you for ever.
I had a chuckle at VV's comments, but if anything it will make you a more tolerant driver.

    Well thats my opinion.

I was only kidding, well sort of, but yeah he should go for it if it interests him, it will make him a better driver, and a more observant one too, hence comments

I did the Police Bike Safe course, which, I'm told, is a taster for IAM. When I do get 10 secs to myself I'm going to put myself forward...

I'm not actually, I've spent half my life ferrying them around though, and I do enjoy their company, so I suppose it's rubbed off a bit, I was going in but one thing and another meant I didn't, I regret it these days, if I'd known how things were going to shape up both in this country and the world, I'd have been in at 16 like I intended, and enjoying my pension in Malta or similar right now.
