    Default Drive shaft replacement

Today I started changing both drive shafts. Having never done this before I approached it with much trepidation.
I started with the off-side as I thought it would be the least troublesome and also, that was the one that I suspected was sh@99ed. Sure enough, it pretty much fell to pieces when I got it out. No oil spilled out when I removed it presumably because it joins the half shaft and doesn't go directly into the gearbox.
Now onto the near side. I think I might have the wrong drive shaft. The inner end is a female socket. Is this the correct fitting for the f32 gearbox?

It's a wrong one. Female end should be in extension part.

So you're suggesting that this part should be on the off side? If that's the case then I'm really confused..... as the one I removed had a male spline.

Not yet. I'd sort of like to know before my car becomes undriveable and I can't go and get the correct one .... or get to work tomorrow....

I hear you BUT..its a relatively quick job to take it out and if the new one is wrong then just put the old one back in..you might even be able to check whilst its in situ..

Out of interest where did you get it from? Did you have chance to confirm it with them?

First of all - are you shure it's F32 gearbox? Because I never seen one of them ? F23, M32, AF33, but not F32. Usually intermediate shaft got female end on one end.

Isn't all the oil going to dump though?

possibly ..maybe a little ..I took the opposite wheel off and lowered it onto an axle stand and jacked the opposite side, the one your working on up as high as I could..obv with wheel off and stripped down ready to swoop it.

Its also a good time to change the gearbox oil..as you may loose a little ...and your there it'd be rude not too really..

Indeed... it's an af33.... not sure why I put f32.

Where is a pic of the O/S shaft that I removed....
