    Default Cross threaded ARB bolt

Feel like smashing the car, decided to grease ARB bushes today but 1 of the bolts on the passenger side has cross threaded. It seems to have cross threaded about 2 notches from the start of the thread. Would this have damaged the subframe threads if I try a new bolt? I did try to put the other bolt from the other side but it wouldn't go in, would re-tapping it to the same bolt size work?

    Any suggestions welcome

Pic's of the bolt that's cross threaded or the arb area?

Whats happened is when putting the bolt back in it felt like it was going in but got tight after 5 turns. I looked at the bolt and it looked a different angle to the one at the back so it removed it. When inspecting the bolt I noticed some of the threads were damaged. So I tried the other bolt but I can't get that in. So I'm wondering if I've damaged the threads on the subframe. I really hope not because I don't fancy fixing this.

Just run a starter/taper tap up the same size.

I need to find out what size bolt it is and I'll get a tapper the same size and try that. If that fails I'll make a u clamp and weld the arb bracket to it and just clamp it again again the subframe. Last resort though that will be.

I'll be happy of anybody knows what size bolt the arb is

According to ECAT it's showing up as a 8 mm x16mm bolt and i'm assuming it will be a 1.25mm pitch so thats standard metric in other words not a fine pitch. You can confirm it by looking at the bolt you have or take the one out of the other side.

Got a pack of M8 bolts but the It's definitely cross threaded on the subframe I managed to get the bolt in and it surprisingly tightened up but defo cross threaded. I can loosen it and it does require tighten back up. So what I'll have to do in future is just loosen that one just enough to remove the clamp but remove the one at back to get the bush off. Not ideal but it works. Managed to sort a few other issues so jobs a good one. (Aswell as it can be anyway) thanks for the help
