    Default oil leak

    just wondering if any one has had i leaking inter cooler i found oil around the front bumper and when i investigated it semms to be coming from the inter cooler also wonderer is it was covered under warenty cheers folks

    If it's oil coming from the intercooler then the seals in the turbo are on the way out....should be covered under the 3yr warrenty

    If it is the seals you will need to be careful as the oil could get into the inlet manifold causing the engine to race as it will run on engine oil just a well as diesel and you won’t be able to control it. If it does happen put it in gear and stall it. It might seem an extreme scenario but I’ve seen it happen usually accompanied with a cloud of white smoke from the exhaust

    and if it does start running on it's own oil it will race away and destroy the engine..

    the intercooler will not have any oil in it..as said before, if there's oil in it, then the turbo is dead

    hi thanks for your reply i noticed the oil when the car was in for a service it is definetly coming from the intercooler it looks damaged you heve got me worried about the turbo now cos the car drives normal its done 80.000
