Do you get any yellow warning lights on the dash?
Cruise control dropping could be from CIM or maybe from clutch.

No warning lights or any other issues related to it really. I’m going to get hold of an indicator stalk & a clutch sensor and see if that fix’s it. It’s rare that it’s doing it, maybe twice a week & it’s covering around 250 Miles a week under cruise control.

Slight update on the Vectra... I had a quick read of previous posts i made in here and noticed I had mentioned the Gearbox sounding a little worse for wear. That proved to be true and it gave up the ghost in October. I was a little stuck as this is usually something id do myself but im working away from home at the minute and i needed it doing in a day so i had to fork out for a 2nd hand box & the labour. I've got my original M32 box and may or may not refurb it at a later date but either way im not expecting much more than another 6 months form this box so it may be a case of going to F40.

Apart from that ive had no issues with the car really, the fan relay gave up and i realised my passenger footwell was soaked over christmas so i sorted the drain holes out in the bay & I've just received a new relay. A new cruise control stalk sorted the issues I previously mentioned too.

I've covered 12,000 miles since i got the car and its been good so far i quite like it, its at 95,300 as we speak.

So since last time ive changed the following:

    Gearbox & Gearbox Oil
    De-wiper rear (glass bung)
    Front Aero Wipers
    CD70 Navi Unit
    Color Coded Rear Boot Strip
    De-badged the Rear
    New Cruise Control Stalk
Tinted Reverse Section of Rear Lights
    Tinted Centre Brake Light
    Black Wrapped Window Chromes
    Full Service:
    Oil
    Oil Filter
    Pollen Filter
    Oil Flush
    Fuel Filter
    Air Filter
    Fuel Treatment

I think the rear end looks too blank with all of the badges gone, so i've bought this which needs a little tidy its from an old Vauxhall Viva which im going to stick on once ive done a final polish of the rear & waxed the new paint in a few weeks.

I've got an MOT in Febuary and I've ordered a load of LEDs to slowly do an interior color change of the clocks etc. Foolishly i thought all CD70 where bluetooth & aux input so im probably going to upgrade that at some point. Should have a few other little things done around March time so will update then.

If it helps, I had similar symptoms of the cruise control switching off and out was due to dirty contacts at the indicator stalk. I removed the stalk using an unwound paper clip slotted in the back to remove the stalk, then used proper elective switch cleaner to clean the operating contacts where the cruise control fits into.

the car looks lovely mate and very well looked after

but i personally think that fitting a badge from a Viva HA from the mid 60's would waste the look.

but...its your car and at the end of the day, thats all that matters.

I've managed to sort that issue out late last year i ended up having to replace the indicator stalk

Little update on the Vectra. Passed its MOT without anything other than 2 advisories on tyres which I was pleased with, I was quite lucky with this as I'd felt the rear passenger side caliper binding a little just after the last update so I'd changed that a few weeks prior to the test. I switched out the Heater Fan relay which resolved that issue too. I decided to try and find some wheels & tyres rather than just put a fresh set of tyres on them wheels, the fronts where flagged in MOT but the rears werent that great either.

Also I decided it was time to give it some TLC as its done me well since i got it and I'd like to keep hold of it for a decent while. So I gave the archs the once over and ordered a few bits of cleaning kit that i need replenished.

So since last time I've done the following:

    MOT
    Rear ARB links
    Rear N/S Caliper
    Brake Fluid renewal
    Heater Fan Relay
    Anthracite XP2 wheels
    4x New Tyres
    Wheel Archs Cleaned
Items Painted:- Calipers & Carriers (Red), Track Rod Ends, Rear Suspension Arms, Shocks, Front Droplinks, Front & Rear Brake lines (Black)

Gave it a quick once over clean as the weather isnt holding out for me to do anything decent but the paint works full of tar and swirls so next step is to hit it with the DA and get some decent coats of wax on there. Will update with a mini-detail soon. Some pictures:

    The car:

    DSC09187-1 by T.walker5190, on Flickr

    DSC09194-4 by T.walker5190, on Flickr

    DSC09183-3 by T.walker5190, on Flickr

    DSC09196-5 by T.walker5190, on Flickr

The rear bushes dont look so great, most of them look tired so I'm going to slowly switch them all out for powerflex units starting with the bottom rear arms (Spring mounts) & the ARB bushes so in terms of parts that stuff will come next.

Other than that the cars not low enough so when the shocks eventually give in i'll be throwing some coilovers on it.

Looks amazing, but can't help think the tyre profile is to small?
