Default getting dab in the car with an aftermarket stereo

    hi

i currently have a pioneer 3200bt installed. it is connected to the steering wheel controls.

what i want to do is get DAB in the car. now i know i could get a dab adaptor such as the pure highway 400 but that looks a bit messy imo with a little box thing.

would i be better getting the adaptor type system and putting up with the extra box or do i put the cash towards a new stereo with dab built in so it's a neater install?

ideally i dont want to have to replace all the steering wheel control wiring if i can help it.

does anyone have dab and what route di you pick?

I had one of these in my vectra. Had dab aux and USB port.

    https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F273319209248

I removed the vent and fitted it in there.

But then I wanted cd70 with aux so my mate removed it and had it for his Astra van.

They do a newer model now which is the same thing but there great for what they are if you look on eBay at alpine ezi dab it should come up. Or speak to car audio or bass junkies in Birmingham they should be able todo you a deal

    thanks guys

i did wonder if a pioneer would be a straight swap, i might just do that then as that seems the least messy although probably not cheapest option

no all aftermarket radio's will need an extra investment to get the steering wheel controls to work... the radio will work regardless but you'll loose connection to the screen if you don't get the all important adapter with cables to have the lot working right.

I've got the Pioneer avic-f77 dab, pricey but worth it. Got all the steering wheel controls etc. I did have the CDC40 so apart from a couple of cables that needed converters and an aftermarket cage and fascia it was just a straight swap. Still get all the necessary display messages.

Just to add though, I already had the roof mounted aerial so that helped
