I have fuel pump from my old Vectra B which I plan to use for this project. But I'm unsure where to connect the hoses...

check the video: the line with the filter is the fuel return line.... other than that you should know what the fuel lines are on the filter housing..

Hi pal,
you connect your inlet hose to the high pressure pump and the return hose to the valve thing thats bolted on to the inlet manifold as in my video.
I like doing it this way as the cdti runs happily on the pure liquimoly cleaner. Run a 1 litre can through it.

Gixer how did you stop the in tank pump from pushing diesel out the open fuel pipes
I am ready to do this on my car and that's my only concern. Oh and how to reattach the hoses afterwards

Hi @rmsNoel. You remove the fuse for the intank fuel pump.
Mine was in the fuse box(REC) in the boot. Fuse No.10 I think.
I replaced the original fuel connector on the pump with a good jubilee connector or similar.
The other connector on the fuel return valve just clips off and pushes back on.

Perfect thanks. There was another video on YouTube which side to remove a fuse in the engine base which was incorrect

Good to hear you got it sorted. I think the fuse box layout can differ on the year of car.
The facelift model is different from the pre-facelift.
The LiquiMoly is good stuff and really cleans out the fuel system on these. Injectors are suspect on these and the cleaner will certainly do no harm.

@northpole I'm planning to do a purge on my CDTi. Can you tell me inner diameter of fuel pipes so I can get everything ready? I have fuel pump from my old Vectra B, so I'll use it for this project.
