Clutch
08 2.8 Vxr, Low biting point and intermittent clutch. pedal drop, when the pedal has dropped it's difficult to select gear unless I draw the pedal back up manually.
A mechanic has changed the slave and clutch but the problem has continued, he has refused to work on my car anymore so I changed the master cylinder today and the problem persists.
Their is a knock/rattle what I would say is the dmf!
Can anyone please give me any advice if a faulty dmf would give me dropped clutch pedal and gear selection problems.
Any suggestions or advice would be hugely appreciated, thankyou.

If the csc has been changed it sounds like it needs bleeding maybe ?.

The set up in the vectra isn’t unique so you would also be as well generally searching google for any gearbox clutch related issues from other cars. I did this recently for an unexpected grease supplied with my new Inner cv boots and found a few other manufacturers who use the same thing

The mechanic bled the system and so did I when I replaced the master cylinder, I have looked on the Google for ideas and some people have had their car's dual mass flywheel replaced by a garage for similar issues.
Thanks for the input.

****** hell, who would think the dual mass would cause that.
Maybe @plasma might have come across this with him and Jon working on many f40 boxes

I hope they do **** in hell, I'm pretty sure the rattle is from the dmf and since it's the only thing that has not been changed I am trying to find out if it's a possibility.

i don't get he didn't change it... especially when he already took off the gearbox to change the clutch... he should've asked if you could afford a complete kit and done the flywheel 2.. this is the reason why cars with DMF's usually end up on scrapyards as the parts are expensive and with the 2.8/3.2/3.0 cdti it's not as easy to get to the gearbox and split it from the engine.. sometimes it's best to go for best practise and change the lot.
so yeah if you still got problems it probably is a failing DMF... but since the clutch etc were recently changed you can get the DMF only and have them fit it, at a reduced price as they should've done it when they changed the clutch.

Got the gearbox out and the slave is leaking, problem found. Now I know why the guy who done the work is ghosting me !
